let's learn about Jim crow laws
Go to the Google Doc you started last week.
Make sure you named it correctly. There were a LOT of mistakes.
Name it with your names + Jim Crow Research.
(INCLUDE ALL YOUR NAMES IF YOU WORKED TOGETHER)
On the Google Doc, you should put the 3 topics.
Then, as you Google each topic, write information on the Google Doc.
IT IS NOT OKAY TO COPY AND PASTE EVERYTHING. YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU WRITE AND IT NEEDS TO BE IN YOUR OWN WORDS.
However, if there is a quote you want to use, then it is okay to do a copy and paste. Make sure you put quotes around it or use a different font, color, highlight so you remember this was copied.
(You can see in my example below that my copy and paste parts are in red.)
You need enough information to write a paragraph about it.
Remember, you are NOT writing paragraphs this week.
Information essays are unique because you have to first do research before you can write about it. For example, I can't write a paragraph about Pioneer cooking recipes unless I know what Pioneers cooked. So, first I would have to research it. Get it? That is what you are doing today.
These facts can just be jot dots. You are just writing down stuff so you can refer to it when it is time to actually write the paragraphs. You need enough information so you can write enough details about each topic you chose.
