Week of january 11 - january 15

let's learn about electricity!

this week

We are continuing our unit on ELECTRICITY!

This week we will be extending our learning from last week.

We will do an experiment with different materials to see which are conductors and which are insulators.

You will need to use:

The ziplock bag that has lots of different materials in it like a penny, yarn, pencil, foil, chalk. etc.

To test these materials, you will also need to set up the same circuit you created last week. You will need THREE wires.

In class on Tuesday we will test all the materials to see if they can make the lightbulb light up.

If they can, they are conductors.

If they can't, they are insulators.

You will use the worksheet posted below to first record your guesses.

Then you will record the results.

Finally, you will write your thoughts about what you learned.

You will NOT be graded on if you guess correctly. You will be graded on your thoughts about what you learned doing this activity.

Name this assignment: Conduct Electricity.

It is due Friday, January 15.
