Every student has a Writing Binder.
In this binder they will keep all the tips and examples provided.
They will also print out and keep their personal writing.
This binder might need to go home and back to school throughout the year.
Students will need to know how to start a new Google doc.
They will also need to know how to correctly name it and share it.
Stories will be written on a Google doc. This makes it much easier to edit it. It also makes the writing easily accessible from home or at school.
Any kind of writing involves planning, writing, editing, and revising.
So, for each genre of writing, we will take it step by step. I will provide support and modeling each step of the way.
Multiple grades will be given for the different parts of the writing and the stages we are in as we write.

Our first task will be to first imagine what your story will be about and plan out the main parts.
This will be sketched out on a Plot Map.

You will be writing a story about something that happens at a beach. Even though it is not a true story, it is okay to write about something based on your own experiences. That actually helps you write a better story.
