Every student has a tab in their binder that is labeled "Narrative."
In this section they will keep all the tips and examples provided.
They will also print out and keep their personal narrative writing in this section.
Students will do their writing on a Google doc, not on regular lined paper. This is done at school on a Chrome book. At home they can continue writing by signing in to their account on a device at home. They have already practiced how to start, share, and name Google docs.
Any kind of writing involves planning, writing, editing, and revising.
So, for each genre of writing, we will take it step by step. I will provide support and modeling each step of the way.
Multiple grades will be given for the different parts of the writing and the stages we are in as we write.
As we go through this process I will model how to write a narrative.
You can refer below to my model. There is a plot map and model of all four required events.
This is a step by step process and a lot of support and time will be provided in class.
WHERE WE ARE IN THE PROCESS:
1. We worked on our plot maps and are ready to write.
2. This week we are writing our first event of our beach narrative.
If Event 1 is not finished at school by Wednesday, this will need to be finished at home.
Please double check to make sure you are finished.
This is now officially "leftovers."
