"smaart" answers

we are learning something new

What is a SMAART answer?

This is a way to write an impressive and complete  short essay answer.

It involves:

1.  Write complete sentences that don't have spelling or punctuation mistakes.

2. Make sure your answer is accurate, of course.

2. Avoid starting your sentence with "because."

3.  Rephrase the question in your answer. (You basically have permission to actually copy part of the question in your answer! Wow!)

4.  Take time to add some details.  (This is the part where you can show off your knowledge!)

Check out the PDF below that has examples.

We did this one together in class

We read Background Sheet 1 in class together.

I modeled how to write a SMAART answer.

The blue part is the "Take time for details." For this you add one extra thing. You can add more than one extra thing if you want to do so. You might earn extra points.

The "M" Part:

Don't forget to mark key words in the question. This is a way to focus on exactly what the question is asking you to write about.
