We have been learning about California and now it's time to study for the test!
How will it work?
Each day in class we will study together for a section of the test.
Homework all week will mostly be about studying for the test.
(Routine homework is on pause.)
Each day students will write in their agenda what they need to review that night.
This will be considered "study evidence."
Study evidence needs to be shown to Mrs. Eller the following day.
This is not pre-written on The Listening Post as it is a fluid process. It all depends on how much we accomplish in class that day.
IMPORTANT
PARENTS WILL NEED TO SIGN THE AGENDA EACH EVENING TO CERTIFY THAT YOUR CHILD STUDIED THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF TIME.
IMPORTANT
Students should study a minimum of 45 minutes each night since this is the ONLY homework assigned other than ONE math facts each night.
Students do not have typical routine homework. (Refer to The Listening Post.)
On Friday we will take the test.
The last page of the test will be a map of California.
The good news is that you will not have to know every place we learned about in California. Whew!
On the study guide (posted above and given out in class) it lists the places you will need to know.
To make it easier for you, below is the "key" you can use to learn where everything is.
Don't forget, you will have to do this BY MEMORY when you take the test on Friday.
Use the blank map to help you practice.
You will need to write a short essay about your favorite region in California. You will need to give some convincing reasons.
The worksheet below WE WILL DO IN CLASS to help you decide which region to choose.
This is posted just in case you lose it. Hopefully it is safe in your California Regions folder.
